JHI Announces 2011 Providers

JHI Forms Special Interest Group for Members
The Special Interest Group (SIG) Committee moves the JHI mission forward by providing a professional forum for members to address specialised issues or needs so JHI can direct attention and resources to their resolution. The committee establishes and implements a process to identify, analyse and resolve issues brought to the SIG through a responsive, effective and documentable course of action. Headed by Committee Chairman, Joe Berkovits of Mallah Furman & Company, P.A., and the Board of Directors Liaison, Mark Smith of eks Solutions, the committee solicits the membership for issues on a regular basis. Based on the membership needs and feedback, the SIG Committee forms sub-groups catering to the special areas of interest including:

  • Forum of Firms
  • Information Technology
  • Managing Partners
  • New Partners
  • Not-For-Profit
  • Spanish Speaking
  • Tax & Auditing
  • Transfer Pricing

Reap the JHI Forum of Firms Member Rewards
The JHI Forum of Firms Group is a full member of the Forum of Firms. The JHI Forum of Firms Group consists of the JHI member firms performing transnational audits and fulfilling the Forum’s membership requirements. By bringing these member firms together, the Forum works to promote consistent, high-quality standards of financial reporting and auditing practices worldwide while involving them more closely with International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) activities in auditing and other assurance-related areas. A Message from Erin Higgins, JHI Marketing Manager

Effective marketing takes a combination of strategy, experience and creativity to effectively achieve marketing goals and show results. This year, the Headquarters marketing team focused on launching initiatives and member communication pieces to further enhance your experience as a member, and provide additional benefits from JHI.

Headquarters supported the vision of the Board of Directors and the Committees to create various marketing pieces, such as the revitalised website, which has become the essential hub for member communications and updates. JHI Connections and this monthly e-newsletter, JHI Assets, were also introduced to help keep members updated on new developments from JHI and provide valuable industry information. We are currently working with the committees to launch educational webinar sessions—branded “JHI” so you know they are credible speakers—updating you on the most relevant topics for your membership and industry.

These are just some of the many ways we’ve launched marketing pieces to help facilitate more member benefits. I look forward to supporting JHI achieve more marketing successes again this year. Our team stands ready to support new initiatives, and maintain and improve existing programs as the global business climate evolves.

JHI Members Relax and Recharge in Austria

Ski TripThe JHI Europe/Middle East/Africa (EMEA) Region's ski weekend took place 24-27 March 2011 in Radstadt, Austria. The event provided plenty of opportunity for leisurely networking and an exhilarating ski experience.

Sponsored by JHI member firm MGI-Group, this first-class weekend centered around the four-star Gründlers Wellness & Sporthotel in Radstadt which is ideally located at the heart of Austria's largest ski region—the Ski Amadé.

Brigitta Promberger of MGI-Group reported the weather was fantastic and everyone enjoyed the leisure time very much. “It was a small and very familiar group. We had (a) lot of time for talking to each other and to get to know people in a very friendly atmosphere,” she said.
